AGAT Laboratories welcomed Alberta’s Minister of Energy and Minerals, Brian Jean, for a tour of some of our Calgary technical facilities and a conversation with our leadership team. The visit provided an opportunity to showcase the technical expertise and dedication that powers AGAT’s work in support of Alberta’s and Canada’s Resource Industries
During his visit, Minister Jean toured several of our key laboratory areas, including energy, environmental, and geoscience laboratories. Our technical experts and leadership team shared insights into AGAT’s wide range of analytical capabilities servicing the Domestic and International markets
The Minister also spoke about Alberta’s growing critical minerals industry and its importance to the province’s economic future. AGAT is proud to support the mining sector through specialized analytical services that help advance exploration, processing, and sustainable development of critical mineral resources.
At the conclusion of the tour, Minister Jean met with some members of the AGAT team for a Q&A session. Employees from across departments had the chance to ask questions about Alberta’s energy strategy, future opportunities for laboratory innovation, and the importance of fostering scientific talent within the province. His thoughtful answers and genuine engagement reflected a shared commitment to advancing science-based decision-making and strengthening Alberta and Canada’s position as a leader in responsible energy development.
