AGAT Laboratories is pleased to announce the appointment of Dan Imer, P.Eng., B.Sc. to the position of Project (Reservoir) Engineer.
In this role, Dan will draw on his extensive background in reservoir management and production optimization to enhance AGAT’s technical offerings and support the continued growth of the Energy Division. His background spans both conventional and emerging energy developments, positioning him to contribute across AGAT’s Energy, Resources & Renewables sector initiatives. With experience in carbon capture, hydrogen storage, and geothermal systems, Dan also brings a forward-looking perspective to AGAT’s evolving portfolio of energy services.
Dan joins AGAT Laboratories with over 25 years of experience in reservoir engineering, having held senior technical and leadership roles with respected organizations including RESPEC Consulting, KUFPEC Canada Inc., Harvest Operations, Husky Energy, and EnCana Corporation. His foundational work at Weatherford Laboratories (Hycal Energy Research Labs), where he led advanced Pressure-Volume-Temperature (PVT) Analysis, Special Core Analysis (SCAL), and Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) testing procedures, gave him a deep understanding of laboratory testing and reservoir characterization, which aligns directly with AGAT’s emphasis on delivering high-quality analytical and technical services.
Dan holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of Calgary and a Diploma in Chemical Engineering Technology from SAIT. He is a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.), and an active member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) where he serves as the Production Operations & Infrastructure Special Interest Group lead. His technical proficiency spans advanced reservoir simulation tools and performance modeling platforms such as Value Navigator, Eclipse, Petex IPM Suite and IHS Harmony.
As AGAT Laboratories continues to expand its Energy Division and support the transition toward sustainable resource management, Dan’s leadership and expertise will play a key role in advancing innovative solutions that align with AGAT’s vision of Service Beyond Analysis.
