AGAT Laboratories Launches Enhanced Electronic Chain of Custody (ECOC) for a More Seamless Client Experience

CALGARY, May. 14, 2026 — AGAT Laboratories has launched an enhanced electronic chain of custody (ECOC) to allow environmental clients easier access to digitally submit, track, and manage their sample submissions.

This updated intuitive desktop version replaces the current spreadsheet version, improving speed of workflow through integration with WebEARTH — AGAT’s proprietary client portal for environmental. With this integration, clients can now access their sample results, submit an electronic bottle order (EBO), upload their spreadsheets, and export their data to PDF all on a single platform.

“By modernizing our lab workflows, we improve our efficiency while our clients also benefit from an updated digital experience,” says Marissa Reckmann, CEO, AGAT Laboratories. “What is most unique is the seamless integration of the ECOC and the EBO. The ability to create one off the other in any direction is a heightened user experience.”

Developed in-house at AGAT Laboratories, the upgrade comes as a collaboration across AGAT’s LIMS, Digital Services, and Client Services teams. Development has also been shaped by user feedback.

“Our clients have been pivotal in development,” says Reckmann. “By keeping our clients in the conversation, we’ve been able to meet their requirements and will continue to make improvements based on what they need most.

“Ultimately, we’ve been able to focus on reducing the time it takes to submit and track samples, all the while minimizing errors that are commonplace in handwritten paperwork. This enhanced digital product brings us forward now and into the future.”

Focused on an intuitive user experience, continuous updates are expected through 2026 onwards. Further user-requested features such as test templates, real-time sample tracking, map view, and API invoicing are coming at a later date.

Existing clients and interested parties are encouraged to contact their AGAT Laboratories’ representative demo the new workflow.
